Rip Rarin’ to Go
I’m feeling much better, thank you. I know this for certain because today I got my opinions back. This morning I had a revelation that while one’s body is in bacteria-fighting mode you seem to become quite ambivalent towards anything that doesn’t concern ending your pain. To any question that might be posed at this particular point in time, the formidable answer is usually a resounding “I don’t care.” What do you want to eat? I don’t care. What do you want to do? I don’t care. What do you want for Christmas? An antibiotic.
Today I got my opinions back – the first sign that I was getting better. While perusing through this morning’s news and being faced with co-workers again, I realized that my opinions had come rushing back overnight, an almost constant chit-chatter in my head to make up for lost time.
Among the headlines:
Wha? Already? Didn’t we just start this project yesterday?
Isn’t it funny how no matter who wins, it always seems they need it less than us?
Wal-Mart – the censored store. First censored music. Then their pharmacies won’t sell birth control pills. Now they won’t sell pregnant Barbies?
Wow. Wow. Wow. Despite my disdain for the litigiously oriented society we live in, I also join millions of other Americans in their scorn for people who don’t get headsets for their cell phones and continue to use it as an excuse to drive like an idiot. But to hold their employers responsible for the accidents they cause? I guess this one baffles me. I haven’t really formed an opinion yet.

Back on our Virtual Feet
Later than promised, WOF is back and up and running after the holidays. I was told a while ago that my last post was a bit cryptic and might have left people wondering if our sudden disappearance may have been due to our untimely breakup or something of the sort. Of course, most of you know better than that.
Our departure on the 10th was for a lengthy trip to Vegas, where we went to the National Finals Rodeo, win some money, and if whim struck our fancy, tie the knot. We did two out of three of them.
Having duped myself into believing that there was plenty of time between our return and the holidays to update the website, go to work, finish wrapping presents and everything else that Christmas requires, I was sure that I plenty of time to do it all. I was set on becoming Superwoman -- until last Saturday when I developed a nasty cold virus that I still have today.
We spent this week in the Twin Cities, since Ryan’s parents were generous enough to travel here and spend it with the four of us. And Christmas, as usual has reminded me of how fortunate I am – that we are – to have everything that we do. . .even if my tickets didn’t win the whopping $314.9 million Powerball jackpot last night.
But the dog is at my feet, nudging me to remind me of his outside duties and my head feels like it’s still about to explode at any minute. So I’m letting him out and retiring to the couch for a bit and promising details of our Fabulous Fabulous Vegas Extravaganza later.
