Chocolate protein shake, when introduced to hot water and kept under air tight conditions will explode. Yes, this little building block of life has a tendency to expand under heat and when shaken, not stirred it will definitely blow the top right off of whatever container it’s in, so consumers beware.

Protein compounds -- those mostly of the chocolate variety -- also clump and splatter quite nicely to an approximate radius of five feet. It covers any and all objects, sticking immediately to them with a clumpy substance, dependent on how much mixing you got in before the container actually exploded. When introduced to hair or skin, it has a tendency to dry immediately making removal quite difficult and will stain the occasional, cheap, white lunchroom toaster if it’s sitting nearby.

Update

The past few weeks have been a blur of events, one weaving into the other until eventually a weekend comes and things slow just slightly. Still, it wasn’t until today that I noticed my complete and utter neglect of the blog.

As far as updates of major news goes, the wedding details are being worked out and we’re over our preliminary bumps in the road. A few tense moments past and now our date is rescheduled, checks are cashed and contracts are signed.

As far as house news goes, cardboard is starting to take over the apartment in anticipation of our first move together. The truck is scheduled, the paperwork ready to go and now we just finish the final details and wait until the closing day. Our weekends have been packed with a lot of furniture and paint shopping; swatches laid next to more swatches and sitting in chairs and sofas and recliners. On Sunday mornings, we visit
The Home Depot now instead of Barnes and Noble. We frequent Sherwin Williams instead of the movie theatre. And still, until this Sunday, we had bought nothing.

Our first acquisition was patio furniture, which will arrive late enough to enjoy the occasional warm fall morning or evening. The rest of our time, I feel is spent on the phone; projects I thought would take a half an hour are taking three. The decision making process for patio furniture alone was a two hour endeavor and yesterday I spent 3 ½ hours on the phone trying to switch over and/or set up utilities because apparently no utility company seems to know where we live or whether they service that area. I can’t complain though. Despite an occasional mini heart attack over a missing driver’s license that will be needed for the closing or straightening out the details of title insurance, life is good. And sometimes you just have to have a little faith that things will always work out the way they’re supposed to.
