All yoga leads to sex.
Tonight we took a trip to
Barnes and Noble so Ryan could pick up a book he wanted. With my chai tea in hand, I wandered the aisles of the store, examining the many tables and displays set up to woo holiday shoppers. It was somewhere in the middle of my visit that I happened upon the Sexual Health section of the store, which promised onlookers sex lives of porn stars and 101 romantic interludes. The titles were faced out, with ample space between them.
I shamelessly browsed the topics to determine if any peaked my interest. As I flipped through manuals and how-to books, I discovered rare and awkward positions of the kama sutra, how to ask for the love I want, and how to love myself before I love others. In other words, little of useful interest.

What did peak my interest was that my scanning took all of a few minutes, leaving me a little high and dry, looking for another section of books. Instead, the sex manuals gave way to self-help and dieting – topics which either arise before or after sex.

Twenty books. The entire section of sex books consisted of approximately twenty books. I searched for something more in the store. There was nothing beyond romance advice.

On two hands, I can count the number of people I know who are unhappy with their sex lives, most of them married and most of them quite young. The section of books on babies and parenting is three times the size of the sexual health section in a bookstore and the books on yoga are twice in number. Does anyone find it disturbing that we can educate how to get in positions that seem sexual and write about what to do after conception, but as for the trip between those two events, there’s little to be said?

Color me blue with envy.
The struthers have redesigned
their blog, yet again. Perhaps I can contract them to do WOF.com.

Actually, the lack of response here at WOF is due to a technical issue. Our webspace is critically full, leaving us to decide whether we should delete or pay up for increased space.
